Best Sports Massage Therapy In Singapore
Sports Massage Therapy can help with various musculoskeletal conditions
To attend a sports massage course in Singapore can be done by everyone wanting to offer sports massage or stretch therapies. Both stretch & sports massage therapy treatment is a one-one treatment, however, both courses teach an entirely different approach in using massage or stretch as therapy. Both of the course are easily incorporated in the gym or clinic settings, stretch therapy being more clinically in-depth with regard to the CNS, fascia, & approach in treating & management of pain(sports injuries) when compared to a sports massage course in Singapore

How do you become a sports massage therapist or stretch therapist in Singapore?

In Singapore, almost anyone & everyone can go for a sports massage course as it's an entry-level to become a sports massage therapist, learning the foundation of massage therapy. Those who want to gain more skills to provide a wider form of massage therapy usually pursue an ITEC diploma course, locally in Singapore. Most of the participants that attend the ITEC certification/ massage course are in the spa/ beauty industry. Most of the courses are part-time or weekend
To graduate & qualify as a stretch therapist, participants need to pass various tests on human anatomy, physiology, fascia system, nervous system, & client assessment.

What is the difference between sports massage & stretch therapy?

Stretch Therapy In Singapore
Stretch Therapy is easily integrated into your gym or clinic settings(start increasing your clients!)
A sports massage course will teach you about how to manipulate the soft tissues & specific sports massage techniques to have the added benefits/ effects for clients. Sports massage therapy also works on the areas where injuries have happened & caused a tightness through compensations, which usually causes pain because of biomechanical imbalances of muscles. Sports massage techniques will include:
  • Swedish massage
  • Deep tissue
  • Trigger point

In the stretch therapy course training, you will be taught how to do:
  • Accurate client orthopaedic assessment,
  • What is stretch therapy
  • Techniques on types of active, passive
  • MET
  • PNF
  • Nervous system engagement

Is sports massage a good career in Singapore?

Sports massage has a high satisfaction if you enjoy working with people, however, wear & tear is another thing that wears most sports massage therapist out early in the career due to poor knowledge or good ergonomics whilst working on a client. Massage therapist go through repetitive injuries from working on a client because of poor ergonomics, form, & techniques.
As a stretch therapist, however, you are taken into the ergonomics early on to ensure that the span of stretch therapy career can be long term, unlike sports massage course. Stretch techniques are based not only on local anatomy bu the longevity

When should you get a sports massage?

If you have injuries that haven't healed properly, having a regular sports massage session can help with improving range of motion but the tissues need to be stretched from different angles, and this si where learning from a stretch course is a great addition if you already offer sports massage to clients.
Where to find stretch therapy certification courses? If you are ready to gear up another level, learning/ training as a stretch therapist will deepen your knowledge of applied human anatomy(body), client assessment, & techniques on allowing a better outcome for clients who are looking to decrease pain, increase range of motion & be in the pain free movements. The course is not UTAP or WSQ funded.
