About Rubber Duck Yoga
Rubber Duck Yoga is a fun and dynamic yoga style workout, combined with the unstable environment of the water adding an array of benefits. The session is conducted on floating boards in a pool or on calm waters. While it sounds difficult and something for advanced yogis, it really is accessible for anyone looking for a great, enjoyable workout. Now we can use water to transform fitness and our wellbeing! Rubber Duck Yoga enables you to combine the breath and movement to enhance awareness of your body. It is low risk, yet has high gains for performance and everyday life.
Course Description
Our Rubber Duck Yoga program has been designed to allow teachers to firstly experience, learn and then teach. Our course covers teaching pedagogy, from the teaching and learning styles to cueing and instructional methods. We cover the basic yoga and exercise fundamentals, with understanding of applied anatomy and body alignment. With a heavy focus on modifications, progression as well as regression to make the sessions fun and accessible to all abilities. The course also covers safety and water rescue and a range of creative ideas and sequences.
Course Aims
The aim of our program is to allow participants to experience, understand and learn the benefits of Yoga on water and what it takes to conduct a Rubber Duck Yoga class. It aims for teachers to become confident and creative in their teaching style to move and direct a class accordingly, catering to individuals. To understand the basics in water rescue in case of an accident or emergency and develop understanding of teaching pedagogy, anatomy and workout sequencing.
Course Outcome
RubberDuck Yoga teachers will be able to conduct water board yoga sessions mindfully, keeping a watchful eye over all participants to give alignment cues, correct common mistakes, prevent injury, and have fun whilst helping others to have a dynamic and enjoyable workout. Teachers will be able to regress and progress a class to suit the individuals. RubberDuck graduates will be able to work internationally and start a class anywhere with our program and boards.

*Graduation Requirements
For participants who want to be qualify themselves as a *Qualified RDY Teacher
- Be able to conduct a session
- Be able to regress and progress movements
- Be able to execute water rescue
- Be able to give clear and concise verbal cues
- Pass a written test
NOTE: This applies only for those who are wanting to teach a class and qualify themselves "Qualified"
Pre Requirements
While we don't have a pre-requirement for this course, it would be best if you can meet the required criteria:
- Be able to swim a minimum of the length of the pool without stopping
- Tread water for a minimum of 1minute
- Anatomy knowledge
- Yoga Teacher Trained / Group Fitness Instructor / Personal trainer - or with similar background experience
- Interest to learn more about Rubber Duck Yoga
- Current involvement in Aqua activities is a plus
- Physically able
